Well, can you? The short answer: absolutely!
The long answer: it’s all about being persistent in your 80/20 approach to all things — investing 80% of your energy into things that enhance your life and 20% into whatever else your soul might crave. You can enjoy absolutely everything in moderation.
Start with this: ask yourself, what do my body and mind actually want in order to function at their best? Ask yourself, what things should I be doing, eating, living out in order to function at my absolute highest? To feel my best? To be the best employee, friend, parent, partner, person?
Whatever those answers are, do that 80% of the time. You’ll find that when you are treating your body like the temple it is 80% of the time, that free 20% becomes more than enough because it’s the 80% that leaves you feeling best. And even performing best!
Now for that remaining 20%:
Moderation is so underrated.
In modern society, we are so obsessed with abundance — to the point of losing our appreciation for every little thing we experience. We crave mass amounts, only to realize it’s too much and we no longer value it the same way. When you enjoy everything in life in smaller doses, the meaning DOUBLES. The impact DOUBLES. And you find yourself willingly wandering back to that 80%.
In summary: focus on what truly heals, nourishes, motivates, aids, enhances and improves your body! Give that 80% of your life and watch your life enhance. Then, give 20% of your time to anything you desire that may heal your SOUL! And watch as you begin to value those things more as they’re less everpresent.
Your body wants to perform well for you, in every way. And it wants you to help it! So, do! Just use an 80/20 approach and you’ll feel entirely balanced while also at PEAK levels of performance.
