Every food in MODERATION: What does that mean?

You can enjoy everything in MODERATION. This is where people get lost. But what does moderation truly mean?

 

Moderation: it means 80/20.

 

80% focused on foods that do your body GOOD: help you recover, sleep, perform, heal, thrive, live LONG!

 

20% focused on foods you crave and desire for your soul (moderation).

 

When you allot 20% to cravings, you can enjoy a little bit of all your favorites every day (20%). However, keeping it to 20% is where a lot of people struggle.

 

When it starts to become 50/50, or even 20/80 instead, it not only hurts your health goals but you FEEL worse.

 

I apply 80/20 to my every day. I choose foods that I crave but I primarily choose foods that do me good that I ALSO enjoy! Healthy food doesn’t need to be “boring”.

 

My breakfast sandwich, for example, a hearty breakfast sandwich, though more calorically dense I’m sure was also packed with nutrients and flavor!! And the croissant was a nice treat for us to split! We also enjoyed some desserts this weekend after dinner and just focused on being present. When you focus on 80/20 you also just feel better meal to meal.

 

It’s also key not to put foods “off-limits”. Ever. Or you’ll just desire them more, crave them with insane intensity and just end up in a cycle of overeating. All foods are edible—just need to balance them into your diet! Then you enjoy them and the craving dissipates.
