Mondays are Hard. Here’s How I Make Them Easy.

Let’s be real: it can just be HARD to start a busy week! But here are some ways I turn those initial Monday scaries into a “Monday is Mine” attitude:

  • Set yourself up for success with a fitness plan for the entire week! If you schedule your fitness routine ahead of time, and commit yourself to it, it allows you to cross it off the mental list & focus on other priorities. I highly recommend starting each day with your workout. Kicking off Monday at the gym or on a run will start your week strong.
  • Get to bed earlier and wake up earlier, all week and especially Sunday night. I cannot emphasize this enough. The late-night scrolling and TV watching just aren’t worth it. You’ll feel better and have more time if you sleep earlier and rise earlier. Time for yourself before work on Monday is so amazing!
  • Don’t dwell on what’s waiting for you this week (big meetings, deadlines etc.). Instead, ask yourself: How will this new task benefit me? How can I kick ass doing it? How cool is it that I have this opportunity?
  • Set aside time for YOU that you can look forward to. Whether it’s your morning workout, a date-night sometime this week, time with friends, calling a loved-one…set aside time this week that you genuinely look forward to.
  • Remember that time is FLEETING. As humans, we’re always so focused on the next thing that we forget the present moment. When you remember that this very moment is also of crucial importance, your entire mindset shifts. Soak up RIGHT NOW!
  • Make the little things special. Love your family dinners each night? Love your lunch walk? Love your Netflix episode each night? Love your reading before bed? Remember that the little things each and every day are indeed special and worth putting energy and focus into.
  • Don’t take life too seriously, either. It’s just a Monday. If you take things too seriously, you will be chronically-stressed. Remember: we’re ALL just faking it. Truly.
