The main fitness goal you need in 2024

What is the MAIN fitness goal you need in order to be successful in 2024?

 

Consistency. Choosing to be someone who shows up, over and over, reliably and with discipline.

 

Notice I didn’t say you needed to give 100% every single workout, that you need to show up perfectly, that you always need to feel amazing, that you need to go hard ever session. The number one way to success is to be consistent with your fitness routine. That is why when it comes to setting new resolutions for your health in 2024, the best plan of action is one you know you can be consistent with.

 

Tips for consistency:

 

Be realistic with your plan. Don’t shoot for 5 workouts a week if that isn’t something you show up for. If 3 is a great start, start there. And don’t choose workouts you won’t follow through with.

 

Be intentional with your plan. Don’t show up 3X a week and do whatever sounds nice (though, that’s better than nothing). But having an intentional training plan for those 3 sessions leads to more results, a better use of time and helps you reach your goals faster. Include rest. Include rest days into your plan for sustainability.

 

Challenge yourself. Health and fitness is a lifelong journey that requires dedication; it won’t always be easy. Going into your plan knowing it will challenge you to grow, will set yourself up for success.

 

Find a method of accountability. Whether it’s a workout buddy, an online coach, a training app, etc. Find a method that will hold you to your goal.

 

Prepare for roadblocks by being ready. If you prepare for excuses (time management, other plans, social activities, etc) and find ways to still get your fitness sessions in, you’ll achieve much more. Be ready for excuses and reasons to not exercise to pop up–be prepared to tackle them.

 

Eat well to succeed. You can exercise all day but if your diet is a mess you’ll never see change. Make small diet shifts in order to truly see all that gym work lead to results.

 

The best way to reach your goals in 2024 is to be consistent and to choose to be consistent before it even starts. Decide today that your health is worth it and decide to be present for YOURSELF, starting now!
