Why must YOU build MUSCLE? A must read.
———
Every year you age, you naturally lose muscle. By working on muscle building, you counteract this. Why is muscle so important though?
•Muscle protects and even strengthens your bones, your joints, your organs AND prevents injury—both now and when you’re older and more susceptible.
•More muscle means a higher/faster metabolism. Muscle requires more energy when at rest than fat.
•A strong body means a more active body. Muscle increases stamina and endurance for all life-activities. Want to be active for your entire life? You’ll need muscle. The less muscle you have the less active you’ll be.
•Muscle stores glycogen (sugar). The less muscle you have, the more sugar will be stored as fat. Build that muscle to control your blood sugar! 🍬
•Muscle helps your BRAIN! The more muscle you have, the better your psychological state due to decreased symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders AND improve cognitive performance.
•Muscle improves your overall energy. More muscle = a more energized body. Fatigue sets in especially hard when you begin to lose muscle.
•Muscle makes you confident and is aesthetically SEXY. For me, long gone are the days of focusing on cardio & being small. The more muscle I have the more I love my figure: it adds tone, makes me lean, makes me strong, makes me feel great!
•It improves all other bodily functions! This includes your hearts ability to pump blood, your lung and breathing capability and so much more. Our bodies are meant to have muscle. It aids it our body’s overall health and function.

The list of muscle benefits is long, and honestly I could go on and on. The main takeaway: building muscle is SO key.
