How to workout with young children?

This is such a common question: how can I workout when I have young children?

The answer is this: you make sacrifices to fit things into your schedule ALREADY, whether you know it or not. You watch a movie for an hour once the kids are asleep, you spend your lunch taking a nap or scrolling your phone, you spend your hour before the kids are up reading, while your kids nap you call a friend, etc. There is time during your day that you spend doing something else because you ENJOY that task/hobby/time.

So, how do you make time for fitness? You shift the schedule so that that time you always make can also be used for your health. Instead of scrolling your phone for an hour in the morning, do a quick 30 minute walk before your kids are up. Instead of sleeping while your kids nap, pump out a quick lift. There is always some kind of time–it’s just about choosing to use it for your HEALTH. There is no investment more worthwhile than your health–this is your longevity we are talking about; this is how you’ll feel in 5, 10, 15 years when your kids are grown and need you. If you take care of yourself physically, you’ll never regret it. You will regret it if you neglect it and your health one day suffers.

So, you make it work by choosing to take care of your health in the time you do have, instead of doing something else. A hard pill to swallow, but a necessary one if you want to elongate your life.
